Facial Trauma and Reconstruction
Facial trauma consists of injuries that can affect the soft tissues, bones and teeth of the face. These injuries can range from cuts and skin abrasions to fractured facial bones and teeth. These bony injuries may affect different parts of the face, which can include the frontal bone, cheek bones, eye socket, nasal bones, upper and lower jaw or a combination of all them. These injuries can affect facial appearance, function and movement of the jaws or eye and if severe, can be life-threatening.
